A leading biodiversity and climate change adaptation expert, Dr Raulings has over 20 years of experience driving nature-based strategy, science and impact for a diverse range of clients across the corporate, government, agricultural, construction and not-for-profit sectors.
Stephanie Sirianni, Nature Collective
An architect and engineer with over 15 years’ experience in sustainability, innovation and design in the built environment.
What you’ll learn

At the end of the session participants should be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the value of nature, biodiversity and ecosystems in the built environment
Identify the key requirements for nature including the importance of habitat area, habitat quality and connectivity
Understand the impact of the built environment on nature and associated risks
Understand the principles of the Conservation Mitigation Hierarchy and how it might be applied on projects to protect, reduce, restore and offset biodiversity impact
Identify opportunities to integrate nature via design including protection of remnant native vegetation, restoration, Biodiversity Sensitive Urban Design (BSUD) and enabling landscape connectivity for species movement
Explore approaches to communicate the value of nature, pitch for nature and apply innovation techniques for nature integration on projects
